HOW CCSCAT DIGITAL SCHOOL SYSTEM WORKS

The system is switched on, and runs continuously once learning activities resume for the day. The teacher enters the class, he/she selects the subject, selects the week and clicks on the topic for the week. The topic for the day comes up on the screen and the teacher starts teaching. He/She clicks on:

a) Introduction => to introduce the lesson for the day

b) Previous Knowledge => checks to see the foundation to build on

c) Learning Objectives => already stipulated in the scheme

d) Detailed Lessons (with videos for multimedia learning)

e) Learning Activities => at the end of the lesson

f) Evaluation => both in-class assessments and assignments.

We have modelled all the teacher does physically into the software. Once the teacher is through with his/her lesson, the next teacher comes in and the cycle is repeated.

FEATURES OF CCSCAT

1) Offline System: The system is predominantly designed to work offline. With CCSCAT, you do not need the internet. Hence, no Data Cost is incurred in the course of using it. The content, which is in line with the National Curriculum, for all the classes (JSS 1 -3 and SSS 1 – 3) is already pre-loaded.

2) Loaded with Audio‐Visual Teaching Aids: The system is based on the theory of Multimedia Learning. Each lesson is accompanied by appropriate videos for detailed explanation.

3) Curriculum Compliance: CCSCAT has used the national curriculum to build its contents. If there are topics that are peculiar to your state, they can be easily added.

4) User Friendly: Even a computer novice can use CCSCAT. Once you can click with the mouse, you can use CCSCAT. Hence, the slogan of CCSCAT system: “Click to teach”.

5) Very Flexible: The system is such that teachers can prepare their own contents (lessons, tests, exam questions, etc.) and load them into the software. All File types (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, pdf, videos, etc.) recognized by the operating system may be loaded into CCSCAT software.

1. No More Copying of Notes from Class to Class: One of the major problems faced by teachers is the act of copying notes from one class to the other. In some cases, they copy such notes on a portable whiteboard and carry it from class to class. With CCSCAT, all the teacher needs, is to scroll the notes for the students to copy. The energy conserved from the note copying exercise may be channeled and used to interact, assess and correct the learners.

 COST IMPLICATION OF CCSCAT

CCSCAT is made up of Software and Hardware Components. We would like to sell the Software Component which is CCSCAT Software for a one-time cost to the state government. There are two modules of CCSCAT Software: CCSCAT-JSS and CCSCAT-SSS. There is need to create a department for the project in the Ministry of Education. This Department would be responsible for the installation, training and maintenance of this technology.

CCSCAT HARDWARE

The state government would provide the hardware needed to deploy CCSCAT in each classroom. The hardware needed for each classroom are a wide screen Television, a Thin Client, Keyboard, Mouse, and a Standing Table.
